HARTFORD, Maine (AP) - State officials say the death of a man found outside his burning home in the town of Hartford has been ruled a suicide.
Investigators say 57 year old Daniel Stasulis poured flammable liquid throughout the house on Thursday afternoon and then set it on fire. After the fire started, Stasulis used a rope to hang himself from an outside deck.
Investigators have found no note to explain his actions.
A passer-by noticed the flames. The house was fully engulfed by the time firefighters arrived at the scene.
Fire departments from at least five towns responded.
