TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Grand jurors have charged a Tuscaloosa man with murder in the death of an unborn child following a deadly traffic accident.

The Tuscaloosa News (https://bit.ly/1jLzN2o ) reports that 22-year-old KiAnthony Jerome Davis was indicted in the death of the ShaKevia Washington’s unborn child.

Washington was about six months pregnant when she died in a crash on New Year’s Eve. Another woman, 45-year-old Evelyn Page, also was killed.

Davis previously was charged with murder in the deaths of the two women. He has been in jail since Jan. 1.

Davis has a lawyer but he hasn’t entered a plea in the case.

A law passed in 2006 lets prosecutors charge defendants with murder in the deaths of unborn children.
