Greenville planning forums set for next week

GREENVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Greenville officials will be out next week asking local residents what they think the city needs in a long-range plan.

The Delta Democrat Times reports (https://bit.ly/QIcLzm ) that public forums will be held each night from Monday through Wednesday, April 7-9.

Mayor John Cox says city officials are looking for comments on budgeting, tourism, beautification, crime, jobs and others.

The South Delta Planning and Development District and Boulder, Colo.-based Orion Planning Group are helping with the process.

Cox says Orion is helping draft similar plans for municipalities nationwide, including for Mississippi cities Hattiesburg, Hernando, Tunica, Vicksburg and Woodville.
