WELDON SPRING, Mo. (AP) - The eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 in suburban St. Louis are closed at the Daniel Boone Bridge after a crane on the Missouri River broke loose and came to rest against the eastbound span.
The accident happened Friday morning. The Missouri Department of Transportation wasn’t sure when the lanes would reopen. After crews remove the crane, the bridge will have to be inspected to make sure it wasn’t damaged.
The bridge carries traffic from St. Charles County into St. Louis County. Motorists were urged to use alternative routes such as Interstate 70 or Highway 364.
