ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - An Aspen ski resort employee has died while skiing at the Snowmass Ski Area.

The Pitkin County Coroner’s Office says 47-year-old Jeffrey Beadle was found Thursday by another skier.

The cause of death wasn’t immediately known. An autopsy was planned.

The Aspen Skiing Co. says Beadle worked as a ski lift operator. The company owns four Aspen-area ski mountains, including Snowmass.

Beadle was wearing a helmet. Authorities say emergency responders attempted to revive him for about two hours. They say he was found in a remote, expert-only area that took time to reach.

Aspen Skiing Co. President and CEO Mike Kaplan released a statement expressing shock at Beadle’s death and offering sympathy to his family and friends.
