CHICAGO (AP) - Prosecutors say a man got on a bus and delivered a handgun to his 14-year-old niece before she allegedly opened fire and killed another teen.
The Cook County State’s Attorney’s office said at a hearing Wednesday that 25-year-old Donnell Flora brought the gun at his niece’s request knowing she was going to be involved in a fight. The girl allegedly struck a woman in the head with the gun and then fatally shot Endia Martin and shot another girl in the arm.
Prosecutors allege that after the shooting, the girl gave the gun to Flora. Both he and his niece are charged with first-degree murder. A 17-year-old boy accused of attempting to hide the gun is charged with unlawful use of a weapon.
Flora’s bond was set at $3 million.
