CINCINNATI (AP) - Bond has been set at $850,000 for a southwest Ohio man charged with aggravated murder in the death of his 3-month-old daughter.

Cincinnati police had upgraded the charge against 24-year-old Shavale Johnson after an autopsy report ruled the baby’s death a homicide.

Defense attorney Wilkes Ellsworth tells The Cincinnati Enquirer (https://cin.ci/1iC7Aq6 ) it’s the type of case that could be emotionally inflammatory and he hopes the public will reserve judgment until all the facts are presented.

Police allege Johnson hit the infant in the face with his fist out of frustration on Monday night when she wouldn’t stop crying.

The autopsy showed the child died from head trauma, but it wasn’t clear if the baby might have been shaken or hit multiple times.

Johnson’s sister says he didn’t hit the child.
