BEDFORD, N.H. (AP) - A mother is accused of driving under the influence of drugs on a New Hampshire highway while her two children were in the back seat.

Twenty-seven-year-old Ashley Cowette was charged Tuesday with aggravated DWI and endangering the welfare of the children, ages 4 and 5. Police received an emergency call about a driver “all over the road” on Interstate 293 in Manchester.

Police tell WMUR-TV (https://bit.ly/1n0MdE8) it’s another case of what they call DUI-D, driving under the influence of drugs. They said they are seeking an increase in people taking prescription or illegal drugs and then attempting to drive.

It wasn’t immediately known if Cowette had a lawyer.
