MCMINNVILLE, Ore. (AP) - Authorities in Yamhill County say they’re trying to identify a body recovered earlier this month from the banks of the Willamette River.

The sheriff’s office says it appears the body came from upstream - no location has been determined - and was in the river at least six months and up to two years.

The State Police lab has done a preliminary examination and concluded the man was 20 to 30 years old, about 5-foot-6, and possibly Hispanic or Hispanic and Caucasian. The cause of death was not established.

The body was found April 19 several miles downriver from the Wheatland Ferry crossing.
