ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Authorities have identified a man who was killed by a falling tree in Clarke County.

Athens-Clarke County Police Maj. Mike Hunsinger says strong winds Wednesday morning pushed over a tree that crashed atop a car, killing the driver. Athens-Clarke County police and coroner’s officials identified the man as 39-year-old Pedro Gerosquieta.

Coroner Sonny Wilson says the man died of massive trauma and police say the man’s death was weather-related. Hunsinger says the tree fell at a mobile home park as storms tore through the county, downing tree limbs and power lines.

Georgians are facing severe weather for a third day. The National Weather Service says strong thunderstorms and isolated tornadoes possible mostly in the middle and southern regions of the state.
