HARRINGTON, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say a 13-year-old boy was injured when he drove his father’s SUV into a ditch and hit a utility pole.
Troopers say the boy took the vehicle about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday in Harrington. Police say the SUV traveled off Bloomfield Drive and into a ditch.
Authorities say the SUV then hit a utility pole and sheared it off its base. The vehicle came to a stop in the road.
The boy was taken to Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening. He was cited with numerous traffic offenses.
