BALL, La. (AP) - Police say a man wearing headphones was killed when he was struck by a train in Ball.
Capt. Jeff Brister of the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office said the engineer of the Union Pacific train rounded a corner Wednesday and saw a man walking northbound along a train track.
Ball Police Chief Melvin Williams tells The Town Talk (https://townta.lk/1i3TkH9 ) the victim’s name is being withheld while they notify next of kin.
Brister said the victim was struck on the back left side of his head and fell to the side of the tracks. He says the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
