LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - An Orange, Texas, man on parole in Louisiana for a 2010 vehicular homicide conviction was ordered Wednesday to serve the rest of his sentence because of a parole violation.
The American Press reports (https://bit.ly/1eOXZNb ) Clifton Locks pleaded no contest to vehicular homicide and two counts of vehicular negligent injuring. Andrew Richard, a passenger in a vehicle Locks was driving, was killed when Locks ran off the road.
In October 2010, state District Judge David Ritchie sentenced Locks to 12 years in prison, with seven years suspended. Locks was convicted of drug possession in Texas in June 2012, resulting in the parole violation.
Ritchie ordered Locks to serve the remaining seven years, consecutive to the 18-month sentence Locks received from Texas.
The accident happened on Interstate 10 east of Vinton.
