CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago Latino Film Festival is celebrating 30 years of bringing films from Spain, Portugal and Latin America to the city.
The festival opens Thursday with a screening of “Tango Glories (Fermin).” The film’s directors will be on hand for the event in downtown Chicago, which will be followed by the opening night gala.
In a press release, organizers say the first Chicago Latino Film Festival was in 1985. It featured 14 films projected onto a concrete wall for about 500 viewers.
This year’s festival will include about 100 films. It continues through April 17.
