Arrest made in attack of New Jersey woman

SOMERVILLE, N.J. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a man on charges stemming from an attack on a woman in her Somerset County home.

Detectives have charged 24-year-old Winston Wilson Jr. of Linden with attempted murder.

Authorities say Wilson and the woman knew each other.

The 18-year-old remains in critical condition after sustaining a head injury and lacerations in the attack early Saturday in Franklin Township.

The woman was home alone at the time and a family car was taken. It was located behind an apartment building in Edison on Monday. That’s where authorities later arrested Wilson.

Prosecutor Geoffrey Soriano says the incident was isolated and the woman was the intended target.

The woman’s name has not been released.
