CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - A 69-year-old inmate serving a life sentence for child sexual assault has died at the state prison in Carson City.

Prison officials say Leslie Warner had a chronic medical condition. He died Monday at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center’s regional medical facility.

Warner had been in prison since he was convicted in Washoe County in 1993. He was serving a life sentence with the possibility of parole for sexual assault involving a victim younger than 16. He also was serving 10 years for two counts of statutory sexual seduction, and 10 years for lewdness with a child under 14 years old.

An autopsy is pending at the Carson County coroner’s office.
