DENVER (AP) - A portable gauge that uses radioactivity to test moisture density at construction sites is missing in Jefferson County and a $1,000 reward is being offered to get it back.

A.G. Wassenaar Inc., of Denver, reported the gauge missing on April 11.

The device has several radioactive materials that could be dangerous if the case is damaged or opened.

The device is a yellow metal box and it has a warning label. It uses radioactivity to measure moisture, compaction in soil and other tests.
