NEW YORK (AP) - The NYPD is investigating a crash that claimed the life of a 26-year-old woman.

Police say they responded to the accident on Pelham Parkway near Fish Avenue in the Bronx around 11:20 p.m. Monday.

They found the victim unconscious and unresponsive. The driver of the car, a 34-year-old male, had trauma about the head and torso.

They were both taken to a hospital where the woman was pronounced dead. She was identified as Perla Reyes of the Bronx.

The driver is listed in stable condition.

Police say their 2004 Honda was traveling westbound when it overturned and struck an unoccupied parked vehicle and then a tree.
