PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) - The Oakland County medical examiner’s office has determined that a couple found fatally shot in Pontiac over the weekend died in a murder-suicide.

Sheriff’s deputies on Sunday found the bodies of a 30-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man in the upstairs bedroom of a home. Both suffered gunshot wounds to the head.

According to The Oakland Press (https://bit.ly/1tZfMKp ), the medical examiner ruled the man’s death a suicide.

Authorities say the woman’s death is the first homicide in the city this year.

They say the gun used in the killings was purchased by the woman three months ago for self-defense.

A 16-year-old who lives at the house told deputies that his aunt and her husband were in the bedroom arguing for over an hour. He then heard two gunshots.
