PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - A McLaughlin woman accused of stealing check blanks from a business and forging signatures on them has been sentenced to 1 ½ years of probation.

Fifty-two-year-old Rhea Archambault also was ordered to pay $1,450 in restitution to L & L Auto.

U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says Archambault in March 2013 stole a book of checks from the business and wrote several of them to various businesses, forging the signature of one of the L&L Auto owners.

She pleaded guilty to a federal larceny charge earlier this year.
