PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Three people have been injured after their car smashed through a fence and crashed into a suburban commuter train in southwest Philadelphia.

A spokeswoman for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority said the car struck an incoming Media/Elwyn Regional Rail train around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police arrested the driver of the car before bringing her and two passengers to a hospital. Their names were not released.

SEPTA said no one on the train was injured but inbound trains had to be suspended for an hour while the tracks were cleared.

The incident is under investigation.
