BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A former Baton Rouge Community College police officer is in jail after allegedly turning in a series of fraudulent time sheets last summer.
The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1izpZ6V ) 44-year-old Lenvi Tennessee, of Walker, was booked Monday on charges of public payroll fraud, felony theft and malfeasance in office. Bond was set at $57,000. It was not known if he has an attorney.
An internal investigation found that between June 2013 and August 2013, video surveillance showed Tennessee showing up for work after his 6 a.m. start time. However, he submitted time sheets showing he began his shifts on time. An investigation calculated he fraudulently was paid $1,691, of which about two-thirds was improper overtime payments.
College spokesman Steve Mitchell says Tennessee worked for the college from April 2010 to December 2013.
