CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - Arrests at the annual Foxfield Spring Races in Albemarle County are continuing to decline.

Police say 18 people were arrested at this year’s event, compared to 33 in 2013 and 61 in 2012.

The Albemarle County Police Department tells The Daily Progress (https://bit.ly/1nZk4NO ) that most of this year’s charges are alcohol-related. There also were three four drug arrests.



One person unsuccessfully tried to elicit a riot and was charged with inciting a riot.

Albemarle County Police made 16 arrests. Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control and the Albemarle County Sheriff’s Office each arrested one person.

The steeplechase races were held Saturday.
