WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Fire officials say a fire at a Wilmington row house has displaced seven people, including a baby.

Officials say the fire broke out Monday evening in the basement of the home on North Rodney Street and smoke was coming from the first and second floors when firefighters arrived.

Battalion Chief Michael Schaal says all of the residents were able to get out of the house and no injuries were reported.

Schaal says there was moderate fire, smoke and water damage to the basement and smoke damage to the rest of the home. He says city inspectors declared the home uninhabitable and the owner was making arrangements for the displaced family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
