LAPLACE, La. (AP) - A 15-year-old LaPlace boy accused of assaulting a 14-year-old female relative has been arrested on a rape charge.

St. John the Baptist Parish authorities said Tuesday that the suspect, whose name has not been released because he is a minor, remains in custody at the Assumption Parish Youth Detention Center.

NOLA.com ’ The Times-Picayune reports (https://bit.ly/1izpfid ) the girl’s father called the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Sunday after his daughter told him that the boy had allegedly touched her inappropriately and then raped her last week.



The sheriff’s office says the boy was arrested Monday after an investigation. It was not immediately known if he has an attorney.
