CLAY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Police say the body of a newborn has been found in a shallow grave in St. Clair County by a person doing yard work.

Clay Township police Chief Don Drake tells the Times Herald of Port Huron (https://bwne.ws/QUJ4uj ) that the remains of the child were found about 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Drake says the body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office.



Clay Township is located about 35 miles northeast of Detroit. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the police department.
