GEORGETOWN, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say a 65-year-old Harrington woman is dead and a Dover man is seriously injured after a crash involving a three-wheel motorcycle in Georgetown.

The crash happened Sunday afternoon on Dupont Boulevard when police say a turning car pulled into the motorcycle’s path at Speedway Road. Police say the operator of the motorcycle swerved, but the Lincoln Town Car struck the motorcycle, splitting the motorcycle in half and ejecting both riders.

Both were flown to Christiana Hospital, where police say the 78-year-old operator was in serious condition and passenger Jane Kauffman of Harrington was pronounced dead. The driver of the car was treated for a minor injury and released.

Police say both riders were wearing helmets. The crash is under investigation and no charges have been filed.
