CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Work is underway on two elementary schools in the Cheyenne area, part of about $40 million in construction and planning expected this spring and summer in Laramie County School District 1.
The Cheyenne Tribune Eagle reported Monday (https://tinyurl.com/m99cnnw ) ground has been broken on the Prairie Wind and Davis elementary schools.
Planning is underway for a new Carey Junior High and for a new building for fifth and sixth grades.
Construction is continuing on the new Okie Blanchard Stadium at East High.
The stadium is a few weeks behind schedule but is expected to be ready for football this fall.
The old stadium will be used for East High’s graduation in May, and demolition is planned this summer.
