NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) - A 25-year-old Nebraska man has been sentenced to five years of probation and 180 days in jail for his role in a fatal crash near Sutherland last year.

The North Platte Telegraph reports (https://bit.ly/1rG3zZ0 ) that Micah Koch, of Hershey, was sentenced for motor vehicle homicide on Monday. Earlier this year, Koch pleaded no contest to that charge as part a deal with prosecutors.

Authorities say Koch was drunk when he crashed a pickup on Jan. 27, 2013. A passenger, 24-year-old Korey Huebner, was fatally injured. Another passenger, Jay Shotkoski, was hurt.

Prosecutors dropped a drunken-driving charge against Koch in exchange for his plea.
