MURRYSVILLE, Pa. (AP) - A preliminary hearing in the case of a western Pennsylvania high school student charged in the stabbing and slashing of fellow students has been delayed.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review (https://bit.ly/1j8k4ui ) reports that the hearing for 16-year-old Alex Hribal was scheduled for Wednesday but is now set for May 9.

Defense attorney Pat Thomassey sought the delay after prosecutors added additional charges in the April 9 attacks at Franklin Regional High School outside of Pittsburgh.

Hribal is charged as an adult with multiple counts of attempted homicide and aggravated assault and a school weapons violation in the attack on students and a security guard in a hallway just before the morning bell.
