NEW YORK (AP) - Three city employees have been arrested following a confrontation with police in Upper Manhattan.

Police say one of the suspects, a 30-year-old teacher, allegedly jumped on an officer’s back and attempted to choke him with a lanyard.

Police say another woman, who works in the NYPD’s communications department, allegedly pushed a sergeant who responded to the scene.

The confrontation began around 4:30 a.m. Sunday outside the Bar and Grill on Dykman Street.

WCBS-TV (https://cbsloc.al/1m0yH6o ) says it started after an officer approached a corrections employee who allegedly was carrying open alcohol outside.

The suspects were arrested on a variety of charges including assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct.
