MAPLE SHADE, N.J. (AP) - Attempted murder charges have been filed against two brothers allegedly involved in the stabbings of two other men at the southern New Jersey apartment complex where they all lived.

Burlington County prosecutors say 22-year-old Franklin Sandoval Avila and 18-year-old Marco Veletanga Sandoval also face aggravated assault and weapons charges. Each man was being held on $250,000 bail, and theyt were due to appear in court Monday afternoon.

Prosecutors say the attack occurred around 2 a.m. Sunday at the Fox Meadow complex in Maple Shade. The two victims, who also are brothers, were stabbed outside their apartment.



A 31-year-old man remained hospitalized Monday in stable condition with stab wounds to his face, neck and abdomen. His 27-year-old brother was treated for a stab wound to his abdomen.

A motive for the attack remains under investigation.
