FRANKENLUST TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a Saginaw man was struck by a vehicle and killed while walking on Interstate 75 in Bay County.

The Saginaw News reports (https://bit.ly/1ir7stv ) the crash occurred just before 11 p.m. Saturday in Frankenlust Township.

The name of the 21-year-old victim was not immediately released by authorities.



According to Bay County sheriff’s Sgt. Michael Shore, the man got out of his car after crashing into a concrete divider in the center of the expressway. The victim was struck by an oncoming car while walking against traffic.

Shore says the man got out of the vehicle “for whatever unknown reason.” He died at the scene.

An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday, and a toxicology screening is planned.
