CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - At least six employees have left the Wyoming Department of Education in the months since state schools Superintendent Cindy Hill won a state Supreme Court ruling on her powers and duties.
The number is seven if department Director Rich Crandall is included. Crandall took a temporary position with Gov. Matt Mead’s office while Hill moves back into the agency.
Hill says she expects some staff changes that normally comes with a change in administrators. But she says talk of a mass exodus have proven to be false.
Crandall tells the Wyoming Tribune Eagle (https://bit.ly/1hF3NIk ) that some employees are remaining for now because Hill’s four-year term ends this year.
Hill has said she will not seek re-election to the superintendent’s post this year but will instead run for governor.
