PATERSON, N.J. (AP) - Two people were killed and two others were seriously injured when the car they were in crashed on a northern New Jersey roadway.
Authorities tell The Record (https://bit.ly/1nPRtu7) that the crash in Paterson occurred around 2:15 a.m. Saturday, when the car struck a pole in the area of Haledon Avenue and North 1st Street. But the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
The driver, 33-year-old DeShawn Moore, and 27-year-old Eric Lewis, who was in the front passenger seat, were both pronounced dead at the scene. They both were from Paterson
Two backseat passengers - Nicole Reed and Keyshema Francis, both 21-year-old Paterson residents - were hospitalized. Authorities said Francis was in critical condition, while Reed was being treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
