MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) - A Mitchell man has been charged with failing to report a house fire.
KSFY-TV in Sioux Falls reports (https://bit.ly/1mLXmen) 31-year-old Levi Young Sr. tried to put out a fire at 912 E. 5th Ave. in Mitchell on April 1. Young allegedly left the residence after he was unsuccessful and didn’t tell anyone about the fire.
Mitchell police say the fire caused several thousand dollars of damage to the home.
Young faces up to a year in jail and a $2,000 fine for the misdemeanor charge.
