STONINGTON, Conn. (AP) - Police in Stonington are trying to find the driver in a hit-and-run accident on Route 2 that seriously injured a pedestrian.

Authorities say a man was hit by a car just after 5 a.m. Friday near the intersection of Route 78 in the Pawcatuck section of town. He was flown by helicopter to a hospital.

The victim’s name and condition haven’t been released.



Police say they’re looking for a gray car that witnesses saw leaving the scene.

Officials say they don’t have any other information yet.
