OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Omaha police say a student has been arrested for bringing a handgun to his middle school.

Officer James Shade says a school resource officer at Norris Middle School was informed Tuesday by an administrator that a student brought a handgun to school on April 18. No threats were made at that time.

Police say the 15-year-old boy was arrested at the school Tuesday. A handgun and ammunition were later recovered.

The teenager has been charged as a minor in possession of a firearm. Shade says additional charges and arrests are possible in the case, but he did not elaborate.
