SALISBURY, Md. (AP) - A worker at a Salisbury church’s daycare center has been charged with assaulting a 3-year-old boy in her care.

WMDT-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1pxg7Et ) that 47-year-old Fay Bartley of Fruitland has been charged with second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and contributing to the condition of a child. Staffers at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church declined to comment on the case, but say Bartley no longer works there.

Charging documents state that video from April 3 shows Bartley yanking the boy from a time-out chair by his arm and dropping him on the floor, then placing him in a chair and straddling him. The boy was taken to an area hospital and diagnosed with a wrist sprain.

The police report states Bartley denied ever purposely harming a child and was unaware of injuries.
