INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - People can visit Indiana’s state parks and reservoirs for free next weekend as part of a spring celebration.

The parks will be open to veterans and military personnel May 3, and admission is free for everyone May 4 for what’s being called Welcome Back Weekend.

Admission at most parks is normally $5 per in-state vehicle and $7 for others.

Some of planned activities for the weekend include a mushroom festival at Brown County State Park. A treasure-hunting game called geocaching will be held at Harmonie State Park, and Ouabache State Park is scheduled to host a wildflower and fern program.

Visitors also can trek into Wolf Cave at McCormick’s Creek State Park and through caves at Spring Mill State Park, which are reopening this spring.
