SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - The New Mexico Department of Public Safety is planning a community conference on gangs.

The conference will be held Thursday, May 8, at the Isleta Resort and Casino for educators and community members and leaders.

The free all-day conference will include a gang intervention prevention presentation to show how community involvement and schools can create a gang free environment. Another will focus on risk factors that can lead to gang membership.
