COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - A man wounded in a shooting in Columbia has been charged with second-degree murder.

Boone County Prosecutor Dan Knight on Wednesday charged 22-year-old Darrius Edwards of Columbia and set his bond at $1 million, cash only.

Edwards is charged in the Tuesday shooting death of 44-year-old Derrick Brookins at an apartment building.

Edwards was taken to a hospital by private vehicle after the shooting. Further details of circumstances surrounding the incident were not released.

Online court records don’t show that Edwards has an attorney.
