DELAWARE, Ohio (AP) - The State Highway Patrol says a small, privately owned helicopter crashed into a farmer’s field in central Ohio, injuring the two men aboard the aircraft.

The crash Thursday afternoon severely damaged the helicopter and sparked a fire in a Union County field near the Delaware County line. The cause of the crash wasn’t immediately clear.

A patrol statement Thursday evening said the two men were flown to a Columbus hospital with non-life threatening injuries, but no details of the injuries were immediately available. The patrol identified the men as 81-year-old Henry Brecher of Columbus and 50-year-old Todd Cramer of nearby Dublin.

The patrol says troopers weren’t immediately sure which man was the pilot or who owns the helicopter.
