CLAREMORE, Okla. (AP) - The Rogers State University men’s basketball team has announced the Most Valuable Player of this year’s Class 4A Oklahoma State Tournament will join the program.
Coach Justin Barkley said Wednesday that center Matt Lea from Stillwell will join the Hillcats.
The 6-foot-8-inch Lea was named MVP of the 2014 Class 4A state tournament and a member of the All-Tournament team after leading Stilwell to a runner-up finish. He scored 72 points in three tournament games.
He also led the state in blocked shots while averaging 16.5 points and nearly 11 rebounds per game.
Rogers State enters is entering its second season as a member of the Heartland Conference as transitions to NCAA Division II membership.
