CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say they have arrested a Cedar Rapids man who was armed with knives near a church.

Police received a report Wednesday morning about a suspicious person in the parking lot of Oakland Church of the Nazarene. Eighteen-year-old Grant Ajango was arrested in possession of knives.

Police say Ajango did not make any specific threats. Officials at a nearby high school secured all exterior doors as a safety precaution.

Ajango faces a serious misdemeanor charge of carrying weapons. Court records do not list an attorney.
