NEW YORK (AP) - A 13-year-old New York City boy shot in the eye by a stray bullet last week has been released from the hospital.

Gama Droiville left Kings County Hospital on Tuesday wearing a patch over his right eye.

Doctors said time will tell if his eye can be saved.

Gama, who is a member of the choir at Baptist Church in Brooklyn, said it was great to be going home.

He thanked his choir members for their support and police officers for arresting a suspect.

Kareem Potomont was charged with assault, weapons possession and reckless endangerment.

Police say the bullet hit Droiville on April 14 as he waited for a bus in Brooklyn with his aunt and cousin.
