FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) - Farmington police say a man was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated two days in a row.
Police say 29-year-old Shawn Smith of Farmington was arrested April 15 during a traffic stop of a minivan that lacked tail lights, failed to stop at a stop sign and drove in two lanes.
According to police, Smith was arrested on suspicion of second-offense DWI, open container, driving on a suspended license, resisting and obstructing, and related traffic violations.
Smith was arrested April 16 when police responded to a possible hit-and-run collision involving the same minivan.
He arrested on suspicion of third-offense DWI, failure to obey signals, and driving on a suspended license.
A police spokeswoman says Smith is jailed without bond and that she doesn’t know if he has a lawyer.
