BEND, Ore. (AP) - A priest who was removed as pastor of a Bend church is resigning from the Roman Catholic Church to start a new parish affiliated with the Evangelical Catholic Diocese of the Northwest.

James Radloff said Tuesday he is excited to start a new chapter in his career and rid himself of what he calls “an abusive relationship” with the Roman Catholic Church.

KTVZ reports (https://bit.ly/1mDFC4N ) the new church will be called Holy Communion Church and offer similar teachings of the traditional Catholic Church,.



However, the church will be run by lay people and allow same-sex marriages and birth control.
