HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) - Rockingham County and seven towns are teaming up to help small-town businesses succeed.
Rockingham County development manager John Meck says in a statement that the goal is to support small businesses and to develop public and private partnerships to help the community as a whole.
The county will provide tools such as customizable market analyses that can help businesses maximize marketing efforts and advertising budgets.
County and town officials will meet Wednesday at the Elkton Community Center to discuss the program.
Elkton councilman Josh Gooden tells The Daily News-Record (https://bit.ly/1kRMDfX ) that Elkton’s downtown has several prominent businesses. But more retail establishments are needed to complement them.
