CHICAGO (AP) - Authorities say five children were wounded in a drive-by shooting on Chicago’s South Side.
The Chicago Sun-Times (https://bit.ly/1iC5n2k ) that the attack happened Sunday night in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.
Police say an 11-year-old girl was shot in the neck and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. A 15-year-old boy who was shot in the arm was also taken there. A 14-year-old girl who was shot in the abdomen is in serious condition at Comer Children’s Hospital. A 14-year-old boy who was shot in the leg was also taken there.
Police say another 14-year-old girl later walked into Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center with a graze wound on her buttocks.
The paper says witnesses said the attack happened after a confrontation at a nearby school playground.
